Welcome to the Noel Family home projects site.
When we bought our home in 2004 we knew we would have a lot of work ahead of us. We purposely bought a fixer-upper with the knowledge that when we were done our house would be our home. We live in a middle-to-lower income neighborhood with lots of kids and retirees in the area - it is a great neighborhood, which totally suits us.
To date, we have tackled several projects indoors. The outside still looks like a bad rental, but since we are doing projects as we have the funds, and not on credit, the work has progressed slowly. Doing the work this way ensures we are not in the hole as far as the value of our home versus our mortgage, and it also gives us much more of a sense of ownership in our work.
As we work on different areas of the home, we will add links to those projects. For now, the links to the right will point you in the, well, in the right direction. (We did recently get a new roof courtesy of an insurance claim due to the golf-ball and larger sized hail in June 2012 - it made the house look 100% better with just that improvement!)
